Kalamunda - Le Paris Brest

Kalamunda is a very nicely planned, designed and well-maintained suburb that I like. It's quiet but it doesn't seem boring or dead. This was my second visit and I found it's quite similar to some part of Albany somehow. We walked around and checked out most of shops there spending quite lots of time! There are quiet many interesting shops! The photo right underneath is cool-looking the pub - Last Drop Tavern - errr hopefully the name is correct?
The main purpose of our visit was to eat the best Apple pies/apple tarts in WA (according to The West Australian) at the Le Paris Brest (oh well, you've gotta pronounce well in French!). With the playing CD-like live music and pleasant interior design, the cafe looks great! Well, when coffee was delivered it looked so good by the look but when I tasted it I was happy that I didn't order it in a mug! heehee... It looks good in the photo, doesn't it?
The French Plate was great! Presentation was good and all ingredients were very fresh. An interesting combination - kinda stir-fried mushrooms on choux pastries! Taste? Very Good, my dear! Very thinly sliced pears were served with running honey on the top for cheese. yummm...
Well, we went there to have an apple tart then I forgot to take the photo of it, didn't I? Oh well, the apple tart wasn't the one I like. Semi-dried sliced apples were on the top and it was hard to say it's got apple flavor though. However I must admit the pastry was very very good - not too buttery with full-butter flavored but pretty light texture! Special recipe, I might say.

It was a very delightful trip to there and I really enjoyed the warm Sat afternoon!
